Well Kevin is WAY into singing right now, and it is so cute! He loves "The Wheels on the Bus", "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star", "Row Row Row Your Boat", and mostly "The Itsy Bitsy Spider." So here is Kevin starting off with "Row Row Row Your Boat" and ends with the "Itsy Bitsy Spider" for his big finale.

August and September 09'
Oh wow...So much has happened in the last two months. We had birthdays, visits from Nana and Papa, family reunions, the fair, the park, the park, the park, etc. I realized I haven't blogged in almost two months too. Here are some pics to catch you up to date...Mike had his 28th birthday and we threw him a little family party here at home. He got some shirts, new shoes, a deck of cards with the kids pictures on them and some other fun stuff. The kids favorite part was helping him blow out the candles. So cute! We were so lucky that Nana and Papa came to visit twice...once for Mike and brother JP's birthdays, but also to hang out before they headed across the country in the RV. Anthony and Kevin got to go to the Fair this year, and this was Kevin's first year riding the rides. He did so awesome, and the kids had SOOOO much fun...

Off to Nana and Papa's......
This last weekend we took a MUCH needed mini-vacation to Nana and Papa Ackerman's house. The kids got to finally give Nana the shirt they had made with their foot and handprints, and were very excited. Anthony told her what it was before she even hit the paper. (I should have gotten a pic of her wearing it, but you can sneak a peak of it in the pic with Anthony showing off the hotdog.) We brought a pool for the kids to swim in, which was a lot larger than the picture made it out to be. The kids loved it, and spent A LOT of time either in it, or around it. Barb completely spoiled us with good food (Mike's favorites), and it was so nice to relax. Mike pulled a 24 hour shift the week before and had been going nonstop every since, and I think he was running on fumes by the time we got to Baker. We played poker both nights, and Bingo on Sunday. Seriously, how much better could a relaxing vacation get? Great company, great food, and a little poker...Here are some pics of our mini-vaca.

And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air...
Our 4th of July was pretty low key, but lots of fun. We spent the day playing in our new pool, and our pink colored sandbox. Mike went into work for a little bit, but when he got home we ordered pizza and made chocolate chip cookies. This was our first year doing fireworks with the kids, and shocker -- they were a hit! Anthony was super excited about the sparklers. He kind of just stood in awe, not really knowing what to do with it. Kevin was all over the place -- the boy is fearless. He is now asking for fireworks for his "birfday". Here are a few pics of our night...

Summer has officially begun...

Yesterday was a busy day. The kids were up bright and early at 6:45 AM and ready to play. We made breakfast, and went to the park until it was too hot to play on the equipment. Instead, we decided to go to the store and get a little swimming pool and sand for their empty sandbox. I have searched everywhere for sand, and the last thing I could find was some bright pink sand from Walmart. The kids loved it! So we came home, blew up the bright green pool, and loaded the sandbox with 6 bags of bright pink sand. We spent the afternoon splashing in the kiddie pool and building castles. Summertime has officially begun...

Birthdays, Birthdays, Birthdays

As promised, I said I would post pictures from the kids birthdays. First up was Anthony's on April 24th. Thanks for all the cards from everyone! Anthony's favorite thing in the world (at least one of them) is to check the mail to see if he got anything. We had a little birthday party on his actual birthday with his Nana and Papa, and the next day went to Chuck E. Cheese. Grandma and Grandpa gave him a baseball tee for his birthday, so he played a quick game with Mike.

Gotta love em'.....

God bless children, right? I sent the kids upstairs last night to get ready for the bath. I started to put the laundry in the washer when I heard a buzzing sound similar to Mike's beard trimmer. I yelled for Anthony to turn it off and he came down the stairs with the beard trimmer in hand, and with a bald strip down the middle of his noggin. I asked him what he was doing, and he responded with, "I tried to cut Kevi's hair, but he wouldn't sit still." I ran full speed upstairs to find Kevin with 3 randomly placed bald landing strips all over his head. He fell victim to Anthony's drive by shavings. I couldn't stop laughing! So needless to say, I have two completely bald kids. They spent the rest of the night petting their heads. They couldn't quite get used to the naked texture of their missing hair. Never a dull moment in the Ackerman house!

Well now that it is 8 month later...

I figure now would probably be a good time to update this blog. Some big things happened in the last 8 months... Mike and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary on December 18th. I tell him we just need to make it the 5th one, and we are golden and have beaten the odds! (Kidding of course.) Anthony turned 4 in April, and Kevin turned 2 in May. I will post some pics later of their birthday parties. (Woot! Woot! Chuck E Cheese!)
It's crazy how busy our lives are, yet I lack any exciting news to report. My goal is to keep this thing updated, but who knows. I have no recent pics to post at the moment, so instead I am posting a pic from our wedding day, and some cute favorites of the kids.
