Our next big task was to keep him from pulling the bandages and drain. As soon as we got in the car he was pulling on it. Luckily, the new car DVD's they got for Christmas kept his preoccupied until we got him. He did awesome that first day drinking and eating LOTS. So today we are 7 days into recovery and he is do really amazing. He's been talking almost the entire time, and being pretty good about taking his medicine. Here are some pics from before and after surgery.

Kevi's Surgery...
So on January 5th, Kevi had to get his tonsils and adenoids out, and a thyroglossal cyst removed from his throat. Pretty much a one stop shop on the surgery table. He was such a BIG boy. He told all the doctor and nurses that he was 4, (he wants to be like big brother), and didn't throw a fit before going into surgery. "Before" being a key word here. He was pretty loopy coming out of surgery, but didn't cry like all the other kids in the recovery rooms around us....until he realized he had an I.V. in his foot. THEN, all hell broke loose. He wanted that sucker OUT! Our nurse Becky (who also happened to be my good friend's mom) almost took a couple kicks to the face. Luckily, this wasn't her first rodeo, and is excellent at dodging flying objects. So we got him settled down after taking it out of his foot, and maybe 6 or 7 thrown binkies.

November 2009
This month went by WAY too fast. Thanksgiving was fabulous as always with great food and great company. We are missing Nana and Papa! We usually took a trip to Baker City for post Thanksgiving relaxation. They are in Arizona soaking up the southern sun, and enjoying retirement - so really, who could blame them?! Here are some pics from Thanksgiving at the Moyer house.

October 2009
October was a super fun month for us and the kids. Mike was able to go back east for cousin Billy's wedding and had a GREAT time. I held down the fort with the kids, and got ready for Halloween. We did lots of fun stuff through the month. We painted pumpkins (which really ended up being dumping all the paint onto the top of the pumpkins), there was Boo at the Zoo where they got their face painted, trick or treating at Mommy's work, and of course trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. Here are some pics from the month:

Kevi's Debut
Well Kevin is WAY into singing right now, and it is so cute! He loves "The Wheels on the Bus", "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star", "Row Row Row Your Boat", and mostly "The Itsy Bitsy Spider." So here is Kevin starting off with "Row Row Row Your Boat" and ends with the "Itsy Bitsy Spider" for his big finale.

August and September 09'
Oh wow...So much has happened in the last two months. We had birthdays, visits from Nana and Papa, family reunions, the fair, the park, the park, the park, etc. I realized I haven't blogged in almost two months too. Here are some pics to catch you up to date...Mike had his 28th birthday and we threw him a little family party here at home. He got some shirts, new shoes, a deck of cards with the kids pictures on them and some other fun stuff. The kids favorite part was helping him blow out the candles. So cute! We were so lucky that Nana and Papa came to visit twice...once for Mike and brother JP's birthdays, but also to hang out before they headed across the country in the RV. Anthony and Kevin got to go to the Fair this year, and this was Kevin's first year riding the rides. He did so awesome, and the kids had SOOOO much fun...

Off to Nana and Papa's......
This last weekend we took a MUCH needed mini-vacation to Nana and Papa Ackerman's house. The kids got to finally give Nana the shirt they had made with their foot and handprints, and were very excited. Anthony told her what it was before she even hit the paper. (I should have gotten a pic of her wearing it, but you can sneak a peak of it in the pic with Anthony showing off the hotdog.) We brought a pool for the kids to swim in, which was a lot larger than the picture made it out to be. The kids loved it, and spent A LOT of time either in it, or around it. Barb completely spoiled us with good food (Mike's favorites), and it was so nice to relax. Mike pulled a 24 hour shift the week before and had been going nonstop every since, and I think he was running on fumes by the time we got to Baker. We played poker both nights, and Bingo on Sunday. Seriously, how much better could a relaxing vacation get? Great company, great food, and a little poker...Here are some pics of our mini-vaca.
